Regular social events are an important feature of life at St James’.
Come along and spend some time getting to know other members of the Church at one of our regular events. You're also warmly invited to stay after our Sunday Parish Eucharist for a friendly conversation over tea, coffee and biscuits.
Coffee Mornings
Our coffee mornings take place every fourth Sunday of the month from 10.30 am, and everyone's welcome.
They are a warm, welcoming time for people to connect, chat and unwind at the end of the week. With fresh coffee, friendly faces, and a relaxed atmosphere, our coffee mornings are a simple way to build community and enjoy good company (and sample some great baking).
Craft Activities
Got a free Friday afternoon? Every first and third Friday of the month, from 2.00 pm, drop in for some craft activities, conversation and a cuppa. Bring a project or start one from scratch!
You’ll find friendly makers working on art, crochet, card-making, tapestry or knitting for charity. In the last few years, we've sewn bed sheets for an orphanage in Uganda and knitted warm clothing for sending to Moldova with the charity Christian Response to Eastern Europe.
Everyone is welcome, seasoned crafter or complete beginner. We have wool, needles and patterns ready if you’d like to try something new.
Summer Fête and Christmas Bazaar
Our Summer and Christmas festivals attract large numbers of visitors from the local community. Even Santa himself makes an appearance at our Christmas Bazaar! Come along for food, drink and seasonal cheer, and check our Calendar for the confirmed dates and times.
